Talking about the future may be a little confusing in English, there are so many different ways to do it! and the difference in meaning is sometimes so subtle! Here you will find some exercises to practice the different ways to express future tense that we have seen in class.

How to change a socket in an extension. Oral Project 1SEA

The students of 1SEA are doing a series of how-to videos to explain some basic tasks of electricians.

Easily confused words

There are some words in English which are really difficult to distinguish, either because they have similar spellings (quiet, quite) or their meanings are related some way (lend, borrow). Here you'll find some further explanations to the word pairs we've seen in class. I hope you feel less confused!

Adverbs of degree express intensity. It's not the same to say She's pretty, than She's incredibly pretty! or That is stupid than That is completely stupid. There are plenty of different adverbs so have a look at the following website for further explanation and practice:

In English, you can form adjectives by adding the suffixes -ed or -ing to a verb. For example, from Bore you can have boring or bored. The problem is that there is a big difference in meaning and sometimes it's easy to mix them up. So, to have a bit more practice you can have a look at the following web pages for further explanation and online exercises:

Street Entertainers in London!

Mime artists, jugglers, acrobats, ... all of them earn a living in the London streets by entertaining passers-by. These artists are also called Buskers in British English, especially those that sing in the street.

Here's a short little video about Busker's life. It's actually just a trailler of a documentary. If you want to look for more videos, try searching for "busker" or "street entertainers" on youtube.

Here's a game to practice present continuous and present simple. Here's how it goes: You have to kill as many alien teachers as you can. Use the mouse to move, and click to shoot.

Every 30 seconds you will have to complete a sentence with present continuous or present simple of a verb given, in order to keep on playing. You only have 3 lives. Use the keyboard to write your answers faster.
